Trip to New England

In the beginning of November the boys had a few days off school and Bryan had a day off work. You would think we would relax and stay home but instead we opted to fly to New England, in the end a wonderful decision. We trapsed around Wilmington -where we used to live. It looks as if our old house is in foreclosure and one of our favorite little seafood places was closed (I never even had a lobster roll). We travelled to NH to visit my Great Aunt Mabe - she had never met any of the boys. Last time we saw her, I was pregnant with Ben. We had a wonderful visit and walked to the ocean. We had lunch and played for the afternoon, we said our goodbyes and soon found these were our last goodbyes as Mabel "Roxie" Mitchell passed away only 5 days later. We finished our quick trip by travelling to CT to visit friends we had made in KS. Nathan and Lona King and their 2 children, Ammon (4) and Maddie Sue (1 year). We visited a childrens museum with them and played around the house. It was a rainy weekend but we really enjoyed the visit!!

Just a bunch of happy boys

The day to day life can be busy and at times crazy but everytime I see these beautiful smiles I am reminded how precious life is!!

Halloween 2009

WOW-- It has been 2 months since I have posted any pictures so I will try to keep up a little better. I will jump to halloween first.

Playing Dress Up and more

We have been trying clothes on Benjamin this week, who knew they would grow so fast. Benjamin is quickly becoming such a big kid. He is getting taller I think every hour. Very few of his pants from last year fit, hence the dress up. To make it fun we had out some of our halloween costumes as well. Will fell in love with Pablo (from the Nick show Backyardigans) so that is what he will be for halloween this year. We also had our tunnel out this week, suprisingly all the boys have had fun with this - even Zach!!

October is here!

The boys have been very excited with fall upon us. We have played dress-up with some halloween costumes and today we went to a pumpkin patch with Uncle John and Aunt Amy, Rylee and Jack too. The boys had lots of fun playing on all the playsets on the farm, seeing all the animals, and picking out a pumpkin. Benjamin selected a big pumpkin that he really had his heart set on, but alas we picked out small pumpkins and headed home!!

Cooking with Mommy

Recently the boys and I made some wonderful GF/CF brownies!! It was a mix from Namaste Foods the Uncle Rick and Aunt Elizabeth gave us. They were delicius and very easy to make. The boys loved them and loved making them with me.

Race Car Games

Will is a huge fan of race cars, or cars he preceives to be race cars, so I took him to the Race Car Game. We went to Eldora speedway for the Prelude to a Dream race. Ot was rained out back in June and reschuduled for September 9th. WOW- I have never been to any kind or race, I never could have imagined what I would see. The race cars I could imagine -- the number of people and the character of people is what suprised me. Will had a great time-- we only watched 3 heats of 10 laps each - we were good and ready to head home.

Just Kickin it!!

Benjamin has had a wonderful past few weeks /months of development. I went to put long pants on him the other day for horseback riding and came to the conclusion he is going to need bigger pants this year!!! He is doing wonderful on his diet and as the plate shows -- he ate everything on his plate for dinner. He is also playing soccer this year on a special needs team. I am not sure what exactly he is getting out of all of this but it is a new experience for Benjamin. A few times he has participated with the group (he likes the warmups best). He also can dribble the ball down the field and make a goal but the all time favorite (for the whole team) is the tunnel at the end of practice or game!!
